Mappa

Mappa is a Topic Maps engine that is written in Python. Is it compatible to the Topic Maps Data Model and provides different backends. Some backends are also usable in a Jython environment. The API is Pythonic and enables the developer to create and manipulate topic maps easily. Additionally, Mappa provides the import and export of different Topic Maps syntaxes (i.e. XTM)

Tovek Topic Mapper

Tovek Topic Mapper has been developed for the Calibrate project. It is a tool for creating navigation structure for curriculum documents to improve accessibility and sharing of learning resources.

Tovek Topic Mapper is an application that allows users to link arbitrary document parts to concepts from shared vocabularies and so to create new relations between those concepts based on the content of analyzed documents. It also allows users to enhance vocabularies with missing concepts and relations continuously. Working with Tovek Topic Mapper leads to a structure of interconnected concepts that are linked to their occurences within documents. Structure of concepts can be used to achieve the semantic interoperability of the documents, to find all available information about identified concepts and their relations, to provide easy navigation in documents thanks to the index that is build up by the list of all concepts.
